CAME TO PLYMOUTH COUNTY FIFTY YEARS AGO

MRS. MANSFIELD BORN IN IRELAND

Mrs. Nora Mansfield, for fifty years a resident of Plymouth and Woodbury counties, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. O. Bogenrief, nine miles west of Merrill, at the age of seventy-nine years.

Mrs. Mansfield, for a half century a resident of Woodbury and Plymouth counties, is survived by an unique family on account of its large numbers.

Nine children and twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren survive. The children, five daughters and four sons are Mrs. Bogenrief, Mrs. F. De Rocher, of Merrill, Mrs. D. Arloss, of Le Mars, Mrs. Alice Coughlin and Mrs. Nora Buckley, of Sioux City, John J. Mansfield, of Westfield, Charles, Matthew, and Herbert Mansfield, of Merrill.

Mrs. Mansfield was born February 22, 1841 in Waterford, Ireland. In 1849, at the age of 8 years, she came to America with her parents and in 1857 was married to John Mansfield in Galena, Ill.

Fifty years ago the family moved to Sioux City, a few years after which they moved to a farm in Liberty township, this county.
The funeral was held at the Ellendale Catholic church this morning.

[Another Obituary]

The funeral of Mrs. Nora Mansfield, who died last Sunday, was held at the Ellendale Catholic church, on Wednesday and was largely attended in spite of bad roads.

Father Hickey, of Merrill, read the High Mass and interment was mode in the cemetery north of the church. All of the children and many of the grandchildren were present and a brother, Matthew Nugent, of Carroll. Six of the grandsons, Eugene Bogenrief, Raymond Coughlin, John De Rocher, Herbert King, Joe and Leo Mansfield acted as pall bearers.
