Funeral services were held Monday, April 5 for Chris Beeck, age 83, of Chatsworth, Iowa at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Chatsworth, Iowa, Rev. Durwood Clauson officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were: Stanely Koch, Donald Beeck, Eddie Beeck, Gerald Frerichs, Ronald Beeck and Robert Frerichs.

Mr. Beeck was found dead at his home April 3, where he resided alone. He was born June 27, 1887 in Schleswig, Germany coming to the United States in 1904. On March 25, 1909 he was married to Meta Mangelson at Dennison, Iowa. She died in January 1969. Mr. Beeck was a long-time farmer in the Akron area before retiring and moving to Chatsworth in l953.

Survivors are his son Paul of Le Mars; daughters, Mrs. Ida Groegen of Granville, Mrs. Elsie Frerichs , Mrs. Ella Frerichs, and Mrs. Rose Feauto, all of Akron and Mrs. Lillian Albert of Hinton; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
