MRS. HENRIETTA WENDT, 84, TO BE LAID TO REST FRIDAY AFTERNOONMrs. Henrietta Wendt, a pioneer of this community for 31 years, died at her home at 235 Third Avenue N.W., Tuesday morning, at the advanced age of 84 years, 6 months and 3 days. Infirmities of old age caused her death.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and burial will be made in the LeMars cemetery, with Beely’s funeral directors in charge.
Mrs. Wendt was born in Germany on March 26, 1847, where she remained for 17 years. She received her education in Germany and came to this country in 1864. For the last 31 years she made her home in this community, where she made a host of friends who enjoyed her friendship. Her husband preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Albert, who farms the home place, and Christ Wendt, living in Wyoming.
Mrs. Wendt was an active church worker and was one of the early pioneers to come west to develop this part of the country.
