Miss Neva E. Neal, 70, of Sioux Falls, an Akron native, died Feb. 23, 1990 in a Sioux Falls hospital of a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Feb. 27 in the Miller Funeral Chapel in Sioux Falls. Rev. Darrel Leach, of the First Methodist church, officiated. Cleo Anderson, organist, accompanied Sandy Entenman; vocalist, who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden." Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Akron.
Pallbearers were John Martin, John Dennison, Paul Martin, Ryan Lahr, Tom Dennison and Jeff Lahr.
Neva E. Neal was born Feb. 9, 1920 in Plymouth County, Akron, Iowa to Emery and Edith Neal. She grew up in Akron, where she graduated from the Akron high school. In 1948 she moved to Sioux Falls where she made her home until her death. Neva was employed by the Minnehaha County as deputy clerk of courts for 31 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the First United Methodist church in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include a nephew, Andy Neal of St. Paul, Minn.; three nieces, Jeanine Martin, Barbara Dennison, and Bonnie Lahr, all of Westfield; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Neal of Westfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
