Fickbohm, Esther Theresia 1907 - 1981

Mrs. Lloyd Fickbohm, 74, Akron, died Thursday (Nov. 12) in the Akron Hospital of a short illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Julian Swanson officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Melvin Hansen, Daryl Fickbohm, Lyle Jacobs, Leonard Klemme, Duane Fickbohm. and Harvey Dewey.

Mrs. Fickbohm, the former Esther Theresia Peterson was born Feb. 17, 1907 in Union County, South Dakota to Anna Norder Peterson and Alfred Peterson. She was baptized at Union Creek Lutheran church, confirmed at Nathanael Lutheran at Alcester.

She married Lloyd Fickbohm, August 8, 1927 at the Lutheran parsonage in Alcester, S.D. They farmed in the Akron area, moving to Akron in 1971. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Immanuel Lutheran in 1977.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and the LCW of the church.

Survivors include the widower, Lloyd; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (LaVon) Maynard of Akron and Mrs. Neal (Marion) Sever of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two grandchildren, Mary Farmartino and Mark Sever of Pittsburgh; one greatgranddaughter, Kimberly Sever of Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs. Francis (Lurnea) Gandrau of Harrisburg, S.D.; five brothers, Wilbur, Wilheim and Arnold of Alcester, Adolph of Madison, Wis., and Lloyd of Pasadena, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
