Dr. Hal W. Russell, D.C., 59, of Fort Collins, Colo., and a chiropractor with Russell Family Health, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010.

Hal Warren Russell was born July 27, 1951, in Forsyth, Mont., the son of Hallie Vincent and Leona Russell. He felt blessed to be born into a family that was grounded in love for each other and a foundation in faith.

He grew up in Le Mars, and attended North Texas State University on a golf scholarship. Hal continued his education at Westmar College in Le Mars, prior to pursuing his profession as a chiropractor at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport.

Hal felt blessed with his many longtime relationships with friends that he considered the "Salt of the Earth." wHal was a devout Christian and servant of God whose faith and ever strengthening bond with his savior was only rivaled by his unconditional love of family and friends that went beyond measure.

Hal considered his patients as family and cared for their well being above all. Hal felt solace knowing that his legacy of compassion, caring, and professional services will be carried on by his son, Dr. Josh Russell.

Hal felt truly blessed to meet the love of his life in high school and share more than 40 fantastic years of life together. On Feb. 1, 1974, Hal married Corinne Fay Clement in Le Mars.

Upon graduating from Palmer College, he began practicing in April 1977 in downtown Ft. Collins in a solo, family chiropractic practice.

Hal was proud to be longtime member of the special faith community at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

Hal felt especially blessed to live in an area that afforded him the opportunity to spend countless days in the high country beauty of God's creation. Hal would revel in the opportunities to fly-fish in Colorado and Wyoming, tie his own flies; golf; drive into the beautiful canyons in his '69 Chevy convertible; attend Eagles Hockey; CSU athletics; cruising and his many travels to Mexico. He participated in Ft. Collins youth soccer and baseball.

Hal was a gentle and loving soul who unselfishly put the needs of others before his.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; two sons, Bryson Russell and Dr. Josh Russell and his fiancée Kelsy Lamb, all of Ft. Collins. He felt particularly blessed to have experienced and shared, loving and mentoring relationships with his two sons. He is also survived by his mother, Lee Russell of Le Mars; two sisters, Lynn Hodgson of Loveland, Colo., and Ann Gatewood of New Braunfels, Texas; and two brothers, Dr. Monte Russell of Le Mars and Gregory Russell of Helena, Mont.; brothers-in-law, sisters-in- law, and many loved and cherished nieces and nephews.

Hal felt he was further blessed in having the opportunity to have shared his professional experience with whom he considered the "World's best boss," Jane Pink.

Cremation has been completed and a celebration of Hal's extraordinary life was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2000 South Lemay Ave., Fort Collins.

Hal's family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Hal Russell Memorial Fund.
