Patricia Ann Staab, 72, of Remsen, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City.

Patricia was born May 10, 1938, at Sioux City, the daughter of Dale and Alta (Larson) Collins. She was raised and educated in Sioux City, graduating from Leeds High School in 1956. On Oct. 13, 1956, she married Wendell Staab at Vermillion, S.D. They were married 53 years.

Patricia and Wendell owned and operated the Remsen Processing Center from September 1976 until they retired in 2002 and sold the business to their son and his wife to continue the family success.

Patty decided that retirement wasn't for her so she worked for a brief time at Vander Meer Bakery and Hy-Vee both in Le Mars. Upon the opening of the Casey's in Le Mars, Patty worked there from 2003 until June 2010. No one made pizza like Patty.

Wendell died May 15, 2010.

She had a special connection with the First Baptist Church.
