Reuben H. Turner, 74, of Le Mars, died Wednesday, May 26, 1992, in a Sioux City hospital.

Services were Friday at St. John's American Lutheran church in Le Mars. Rev. Gary Landsness officiated. Burial was in West Fork Township Cemetery in Climbing Hill, under direction of Mauer-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars.

Mr. Turner was born Oct. 30, 1917 in rural Moville, son of William R. and Jenny (Forker)Turner. He grew up and attended school in the Moville area. He graduated from Moville High School and received a teacher's certificate from Wayne State College. He married Madge Haddock April 5, 1940 in Sioux City. The couple farmed in Harrison County, near Pisgah and then moved to Akron in 1951. She died Oct. 27, 1958. He became a salesman in 1961. He married Mary Beeck A had lived in Le Mars the last 28 years, spending winters in Texas and Arizona and traveling extensively.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Brian Turner of Casselton, N.D.; a daughter, Melissa Grover of North Highland, Calif.; five stepsons, Edward Beeck of Akron, Thomas Beeck of Cottage Grove, Ore., Michael Beeck of Carrolton, Tex., David Beeck of Edina, Minn., and Steven Beeck of Le Mars; two stepdaughters, Mary Lu Sargisson and Linda Kommes, both of Le Mars; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Turner of Le Mars; and two sisters, Ellen Oliver of Le Mars and Irma Strong of Cave Creek, Ariz.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willis, Earl and Paul; a sister, Lucille Sorensen; and a daughter, Maida Graham.
