Willis (Bud) Bolser, 69, of Le Mars and a lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1992, at Floyd Valley Hospital, Le Mars.

Services were held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars with Rev. Dale George officiating. Mr. Bolser was cremated.

Mr. Bolser was born Sept. 22, 1923, in Le Mars to Norman and Ida L. (Rothlisberger) Bolser. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. He graduated from Le Mars Community high school and served in the U.S. navy in World War II. He farmed for 12 years in Stanton Township and was president of Le Mars Federal Savings and Loan until retiring in 1973.

He married Cheryl Reynolds on Jan. 7, 1953, in Le Mars. After his retirement, he was active in wood and metal sculpture in his studio, "The Iron Tree". His art work was displayed in many galleries throughout the country.

He is a past member of the Le Mars city council and member of the Plymouth county conservation board. He was a member of Wasmer Post 241 of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norman Bolser and his wife Eileen of Burley, Wash., and Miles Bolser of State College, Pa.; a daughter, Ann Bolser of Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Margaret Pew and her husband, Richard, of Spirit Lake; a sister-in-law, Mary Reynolds of Le Mars; a nephew, Wesley Reynolds of Le Mars; and his step mother, Rose Bolser of Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
