Harry R. Smith, 77, of O'Neill, Neb., died Friday (Dec. 12, 1986) at Ainsworth of a brief illness.

Services were held Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist church in Akron. The Rev. Peter Peterson officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron, under direction of the Schroeder Funeral home of Akron. A Masonic service was held Sunday at Beclin's funeral home in O'Neill. A prayer service was held in Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. A Masonic service was held Sunday at Bedlin’s Funeral Home in O’Neill. A prayer service was held in Schroeder Funeral home in Akron Monday evening
At 7:30 p.m.

Pallbearers were Dennis Smith, Daryl Smith, Duane smith, Ronald smith, Eugene Harbeck and Clifford Johnson. Soloist Gary Tucker sang “How Great Thou Art” and “In The Garden.” Pam Stowe was organist.

Mr. Smith was born Nov. 10, 1909, to Frank and Elvera Sorenson Smith in Plymouth County near Akron, Iowa. He farmed in Plymouth county until 1951 when he moved to O’Neill. He Operated a farm implement dealership until the time of his death.

Survivors include his mother, Elvera Smith of Akron; three brothers, Ward of O’Neill, John C. and Virgil, both of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Melvia ((Ella) Johnson of Akron and Mrs. Orville (Hope) Harbeck of Sioux City; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank and one brother, Bob.
