Ward Hopper Sr., 86, Sioux City, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 1992), at Sunrise Manor after an extended illness.
Private services were held with Rev. Verdery Kerr of St. Thomas Episcopal church officiating. Burial was in Logan Park cemetery under direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City.
Mr. Hopper was born Aug. 13, 1905, in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City public schools, Shattuck Military Academy in Fairbault, Minn., and St. Luke's School in Wayne, Pa. He married Dorth Clark of Akron, la., Oct. 14, 1943. He was owner and president of C.T. Hopper Furniture Co. from 1925 to 1958, when he retired. He was very active in community affairs and was a member of various organizations and groups in Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ward Hopper Jr., of Claremore, Okla.; a daughter, Carol Winter of Iowa City, la.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, 1st Lt. Charles T. Hopper.
