John Theeler, 34, of Phoenix and formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1992, at a Phoenix hospital after a long illness.

Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Akron.

Survivors include his mother, Darlene Wertanen of Baudette, Minn.; five brothers, Steven of Akron, Robert Jr. and Craig, both of Sioux City, Rick of Mount Pleasant, Iowa and Donald of Germany; three sisters, Pam Mullen of Dakota City, Pat Theeler of Akron, and Debra Theeler of Hornick, and a grandmother, Edna Jansen of Ida Grove.
