Lenora (Onnen) Beck

Lenora Onnen Beck, 53, or Richland, S.D., died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were Saturday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron, with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Carol Harris, pianist, accompanied Isabel Onnen, soloist.

Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Akron. Pallbearers were Walt Onnen, Gary Onnen, Melvin Rosenbaum, Arvin Rosenbaum, Ernie Petty and Michael Beltz.

Mrs. Beck was born Oct. 21, 1939 at Akron, daughter of William and Freda (Jans) Onnen. She married Frederick Beck Nov. 6, 1977, at Elk Point, S.D. She worked at Iowa Beef Processors, Inc., and at Cody's in Elk Point for many years. Since 1986, she was with the custodial department at the University of South Dakota at Vermillion.

Survivors include her husband; three brothers, Alfred of Bryan, Texas, Virgil of Florida and Clinton of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Violet Pulscher of McCook Lake, S.D., and Nancy Pies of Richland; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Burke of Ft. Drum, N.Y., and Lisa Green of Hawarden; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, her twin Leonard, Gilbert and Donald Onnen, and a sister, Irene Huls.
