Westfield, Iowa-G. Roger Easton,77,of Westfield died suddenly Sunday April 9, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1:30p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron with Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery near Merrill.
M. Easton was born Jan.4,1912, at Merrill son of Joseph & Mona (King) Easton.
He married Elsie Johnson on Nov.29,1934, in Merrill. The couple farmed near Merrill for eight years before moving to a farm east of Westfield. Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Akron and former member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Merrill.
He was a former church councilman. He was past president of Plymouth County Farm Bureau and held many offices also a member of Westfield School Board.
An active member of Republican Party he ran for State representative in 1976. In 1981 he was awarded the Plymouth County Service Award in agriculture from the Plymouth County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his beloved wife Elsie; son Darrell and wife Glenda of Akron; daughter and her husband Willis (Laila) Gray of Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Lake of Merrill, Mrs. Mabel Howe of Elma, Wash., Mrs. Katherine Schneider of Akron, Mrs. Bessie Tucker of Montesani, Wash.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, four brothers, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
