Fred J. Marienau, 78, retired Akron
pharmacist, died unexpectedly Saturday
at his home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at
10:30 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist
Church, Akron, with Rev. Ralph Burdette
officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill
Cemetery, Ireton, under direction of the
Schroeder funeral home, Akron.

He was born July 10,1893, at Ireton., He
married Christine Seitz in 1926 at South
Sioux City.

Mr. Marienau was a practicing phar-
macist at Sioux City and Akron. He retired
in 1961.

He was a veteran of World War 1,
member of the Akron American Legion,
Veterans of Foreign Wars and Masonic
Orders.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Dr. Fred
Marienau of Sandpoint, Id.; two
daughters, Mrs. John Ernst of Denver,
Colo., and Mrs. Philip Stevenson of
Duluth, Minn.; and 12 grandchildren.
