George Wilkens, 80, Hawarden, died March 19, 1976, in a nursing home of a long illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran church. Rev. Dwight Rangstorf officiated. Burial was in the cemetery at Brunsville under direction of the Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Wilkens was born October 23, 1895, at Worthing, S.D. He married Mary Marienau Oct. 2, 1919, in Plymouth county.

The couple lived in the Brunsville area before moving to Hawarden in 1964. She died Dec. 26, 1968. He was a veteran of world war 1 and a member of the American Legion post at Worthing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Rosie) Anderson of Hawarden; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John Larson of Adrian, Minn. and Mrs. Mary Herding of Watertown, S.D.
