John William "Jack" Mockler, 62, Akron, Iowa died Friday, Dec. 21, 1990 in Akron, of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Mockler was born March 25, 1928 at Kingsley, Iowa, to Edward and Pearl (Feeney) Mockler. He grew up in the Kingsley area, where he attended school, graduating in 1946 from Kingsley high school. He attended Westmar College in Le Mars for one year. He married May Feauto of Akron, November 30, 1950 at Akron. The couple farmed in the Kingsley area until 1969, moving to Sibley, Iowa, where they lived three years. They moved to Chatsworth in 1972, where he operated Mockler Plumbing, Heating and Electric business. The family moved to Akron in 1975. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Akron; five daughters, Pat and her husband, Tom Struve of Mount Vernon, Iowa, Vicki and David Anstine of Kingsley, Nancy and Loren Marnach of Ashton, Iowa, Sue McManaman and friend Aaron Boyer of Hawarden, Theresa and her husband, Kerry Boyd of Akron; two sons, Mike of Akron and Ron of Iowa City; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Robert of Kingsley and Paul of Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister, Mary Ann Case of Storm Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim.

SERVICES - St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Akron - Monsignor Gerald Lyon, Officiant - Monday, December 24, 1990, 1 p.m. - Pat Bernard, Organist - Visitation, December 23, 2 to 8 p.m. - Prayer Service, December 23, 7 p.m.
