Thomas Raymond Dennison
Ray Dennison, 90, Westfield, died Saturday, June 9, 1990, in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiated. Burial was in Ellendale Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder funeral home, Akron. A scripture prayer service was held June 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Tom Dennison, Mike Dennison, Pat Dennison, John Dennison, Mark Gurnik, and Doug Rowbury.
Mr. Dennison was born May 7, 1900, in Westfield, Iowa to Thomas A. and Mary (Conway) Dennison. He married Blase Bogenrief Feb. 21, 1928 at Ellendale. She died Nov. 14, 1969. He married Ola Bogenrief Jan. 20, 1972, in Sioux City. He farmed his entire life in Plymouth county in Merrill and Westfield areas.
Survivors include his wife, Ola; two daughters, Mrs. John (Nora Rae) Gurnik of Naperville, III., and Mrs. Darral (Charlotte) Rowbury of Sioux City; a son, Tom of Westfield; a sister, Helen Dennison of Westfield; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Blase; two brothers, Bill and Frank, and two sisters, Sadie Connolly and Celia Cant.
