Melvin Ross, 42, was found dead Thursday
night, May 29, in his home two miles
east of Burbank, S. D.

Union County Coroner, L. W. Anderson,
ruled that Mr. Ross took his own life.

Mr. Ross was born January 16,1927, in
Akron, Iowa. He was a veteran of World
War II. He worked for Dyna Technology
Co. in Sioux City for the last several years.

He married Alice Jacoby in Akron. The
couple was divorced. He later married
Betty Markel in 1959.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter,
Carla, by the previous marriage; two
daughters, Tammy and Teresa, and a stepson,
Regie, all at home; the parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Guy Ross of Westfield, Iowa;
two sisters , Mrs. Harold Vrana, of Westfield
and Mrs. Hans Knudsen, of Akron,
and a brother, Guy Ross Jr, of Westfield.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m.
Monday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in
Akron, the Rev. Edward Maus officiating.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at
Akron.

Louis Conway, Robert Hummel, Arnold
Hummel, Robert Charbonneau, Ed Tracy
and Paul Friske were pallbearers.
