Theresa Vondrak, 92, of Le Mars, died Thursday Jan. 11, 2007. She had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Village (formerly Brentwood Good Samaritan Care Center) since November 1999.

The former Theresa B. Choquette was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Jefferson, S.D., the daughter of Albert and Antonia Choquette. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Salix.

She married Leo R. Vondrak Aug. 19, 1936, and they farmed north of Sioux City until 1958 at which time they moved to Le Mars. In 1963 they returned to Sioux City and opened the Vondrak Implement Business on Hwy. 75 North. Upon their retirement in 1978 they returned to Le Mars where they resided until their deaths. Her husband died in March 1991.

She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands Nancy and Carl Harrison of Hinton, Colleen and Jerry Lafferty of Vero Beach, Fla., Suzanne and Cliff Mitchell of Wellington, Fla.; two sons and their wives, Douglas and Susan Vondrak of Sioux City, and Richard and Mary Vondrak of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Paul and Sonia Choquette of Denver, Colo.; three sister-in-laws, Lois Choquette of Sioux City, Eleanor Choquette of Salix and Dorothy Wendeshausen and her husband Norman of Norfolk, Neb., 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Rene and Roland Choquette and two sisters, Dorothy Morrow and Fabienne Guiney.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, where there was a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. and the family present from 5 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers were Dan Harrison, Matt Harrison, Steve Vondrak, Steve Lafferty, and Matt Vondrak.
