C . E. MOORE LAID TO REST AT SENEY ON MONDAY AFTERNOON

Clarence E. Moore was born November 11, 1867, in Brush Creek, Fayette county, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday morning, April 28, 1945, at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Marie Wonser, 217 West Third Street, Sioux City.

He was married to Ada Lancaster of Seney, Ia., July 21, 1899, at the home of her parents. To this union four children were born, three daughters and one son, Floyd Moore of Sioux City, Mrs. Margaret Cooney of Luverne, Minn., Mrs. Goldie Southwick of Tiger, Wash. One daughter, Lavonne, died in infancy.

His wife preceded him in death January 4, 1937.

Clarence Moore came to Plymouth County in his early manhood, spending most of his life here.

He enlisted in the Spanish-American War in Co. M, 52nd regiment of Iowa volunteers, serving until the end of the war.

After the death of his wife, he made his home with members of his family until going to Sioux City about a year ago.

Besides the bereaved family, he is survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Stella Criswell of Haxtun, Colo., Mrs. Effie Dempster of Springfield, S.D., and Lee Moore of Dickens, Ia. Besides his parents, three brothers, Ira, William and Milton preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon in the Seney Methodist church, Rev. J. E. Lombard, officiating.

Pallbearers were: Vernon Penning, Roy McArthur, Irving McArthur, Glen Hinde, Jack Hinde, Raymond Hinde, all nephews of the deceased.

Jacob Koenig, Gerd Grahlman, Fred Paschan, legionnaires from LeMars attended in a body. Harold Eilers also of LeMars was bugler. Presentation of the flag was made to Floyd Moore by Mr. Paschan.
