Eilert Ludwigs Dies at Age 66

Funeral services for Eilert Ludwigs, 66, of Craig, who dies Saturday, February 15, 1964, at the Hawarden hospital where he had been hospitalized several times recently were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran church at Craig.

Rev. Ervin B Schemmel officiated with burial in the Craig Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Ludwigs was born near Le Mars December 16, 1897. He married Agnes J. Ladwig at Craig February 15, 1918.

He farmed in the Chatsworth vicinity and also the Craig area before moving to Craig in 1925, where he became a truck operator. He later was employed by Plymouth county as a road maintainer operator which job he held for 18 years until his retirement in 1962.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Harvey of Le Mars and Henry; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Roberts of Pipestone, Minnesota and Mrs. Norman Borton of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Henry of Craig, a sister, Mrs. John Miniets of Craig and nine grandchildren.
