Death Claims Mrs. Anna Euken

Mrs. Anna Marie Euken, mother of Jacob Euken of Chatsworth, passed away last Friday (August 30, 1940). The following account was taken from the Le Mars Sentinel;

“Mrs. Anna Marie Euken, 75, a resident of Plymouth county since young womanhood, died Friday (August 30, 1940) in Le Mars following a lingering illness of some months duration.

Anna Marie Peters was born in Germany December 3, 1864, and came with her parents to America when a girl.

She was married to Otto Euken. They farmed in Grant township and other places in Plymouth county. He died many years ago and she was left a young widow with two children to support.

Of late years she made her home with relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Osterbuhr, and a few weeks ago came to Le Mars for medical attention and hospital care.

She is survived by her son, Jacob Euken of Chatsworth and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Osterbuhr, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.”
