FRANK E. BURKE, 83, RETIRED AKRON RURAL LETTER CARRIER DEAD

Old-time Akron friends have learned of the death of a former well-known resident, Frank E. Burke, 83, of Snohomish, Wash., Sunday morning, Dec. 23, at a hospital in Monroe, Wash.

He had been in failing health for some time, but made his annual visit to relatives and friends in Akron a few months ago.

Mr. Burke was a rural mail carrier out of the Akron post office for 36 years, retiring and moving to Snohomish 20 years ago. He was a member of the First Church of Christ at Akron and an elder for many years.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Ronald of Westfield and Duane E. of Everett, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Holm of Akron and Mrs. Kenneth MacDicken of Snohomish; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson, Tommy Adkins, of Sioux City.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 27, in the Snohomish funeral home, and burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery there.
