Mrs. Ludwigs of Chatsworth Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Marie Ludwigs, 79, of Chatsworth, who died Sunday(July 18, 1965) at the Hawarden hospital, were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church in Chatsworth, Rev. Harris Hostager officiating. Interment was at Riverside cemetery at Akron under the direction of the Barnard-Dow Funeral home.
Marie Degen was the organist with congregational singing. Casket bearers were Leslie Ludwigs, James Ludwigs, Duane Jones, Derald Kaelke, Donald Kluver and Harlan Bultman.
Mrs. Ludwigs was born December 17, 1885, in Reading township, Sioux county. There she married Gerd J. Ludwigs of Grant township, Plymouth county January 14, 1903, and for two years they farmed near Struble, Iowa.
In 1905 they moved to the Chatsworth vicinity.
They were charter members of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church. She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church and was the last remaining Chatsworth resident charter member of the church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Anna Louise, in infancy, and her husband who died June 14, 1962.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Chris (Etta) Kluver of Starbrook, Minnesota, Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Huebner and Mrs. Ralph (Gertrude) Kaelke, both of Belgrade, Minnesota, and Mrs. George (Amanda) Bultman of Ireton, four sons, Henry of Chatsworth, Gerd of Lancaster, California, Clarence of Le Mars and John of Sioux City; two brothers, Henry Borchers of Chatsworth and Herman Borchers of Arkansas City, Kansas, two sisters, Mrs. Helene Ludwigs and Mrs., Etta Mieners, both of Le Mars; 28 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
