In 1986, Kenny (by now known as "Bunny") and Mariel moved to Le Mars to be closer to his work. They returned to Sanborn in the spring of 2000, and Bunny worked part-time at the OK REC until shortly before his death.
Kenny was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He spent 24 years serving the Sanborn Fire Department.
