REMSEN RESIDENT BURIED SATURDAY
Mrs. Elizabeth Wilberding, Dies At Age of 77 Years

Mrs. Elizabeth Wilberding, age 77, passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital June 22, following a short sickness.

Mrs. Wilberding was born Jan. 12, 1867, at Dubuque County, Iowa, to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fieldman.

She was united in marriage to Anton Wilberding April 10, 1888, at Dyersville, Ia. Following her marriage she and her husband lived on a farm at Dyersville until 1892 when they moved to east Remsen where they farmed until 1930. In 1930 Mr. Wilberding retired and they moved to Remsen, after having farmed for 42 years. Anton, her husband, died six years ago and she has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Ray Baack, since.

The funeral was Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and burial was in the St. Mary’s cemetery.

She is survived by five sons and four daughters as follows: Joseph, Remsen; Charles, Remsen; Mrs. Art Delperdang, Mrs. Fred Rupp, Mrs. S.J. Clark, all of Cherokee; Anthony of Hampson, Ia.; Francis, of Marcus; Mrs. Ray Baack of Remsen; Linn of Waterloo. At the time of her death she had one son-in-law and seven grandchildren in the service.

She is also survived by two brothers, Henry Fieldman of Parlville and John B. Fieldman, of Dubuque and one sister, Mrs. Lois Meyer of Dyersville; also 64 living grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilberding was a member of the Christian Mothers Society.

A large number of out-of-town friends attended the services.
