HANNAH VOLLMAR

Hannah Vollmar, 96, Plymouth County native and longtime LeMars resident, died Sunday (March 11, 1984) at Brentwood Care Center, LeMars, where she had lived for several years.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with Rev. William Striepe officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery.

Hannah Mammen was born Nov. 15, 1887, in Grant Township, rural LeMars, to Claus and Johanna Rolapp Mammen. She was a receptionist for her brother, Dr. G. H. Mammen, until her marriage to Otto Vollmar March 20, 1907, in LeMars.

After her marriage she lived in Montana and in Watertown and Stratford, S.D., and Oshkosh, Wis., before moving to LeMars in 1935.

Mrs. Vollmar was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and Ephphatha Circle.

Survivors are her son, John Vollmar and his wife, Elizabeth, LeMars; two grandchildren, John Vollmar Jr, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Roger (Mary Ann) Wess, Chadron, Neb. There are seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Otto, who died Aug. 5, 1971, and seven brothers and two sisters.
