Madolin Bay, 91 of Glenwood, Minnesota, formerly of Akron, Iowa died Thursday, November 26, 2009, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 4, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. There will be additional visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. There will be a Scriptural Service at 11:00 a.m., prior to burial in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Akron.

Madolin B. Lamoureux, daughter of Edward and Amelia (Rush) Lamoureux, was born on July 30, 1918, in Akron, Iowa. She grew up in Iowa and attended country school. On December 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to James E. Bay in Akron, IA. This marriage was blessed with five children, Robert, Michael, Marcia, Jeanette and Sharon. The couple made their home in Rock Valley, IA, where they farmed until moving to their vacation home in Glenwood, Minnesota in 1983. James died shortly after the move and Madolin continued to reside in Glenwood until the time of her death.

Madolin was a member of the Glenwood VFW Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Church of Glenwood. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered by those who knew her as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Madolin is survived by her children, Robert (Cathy) Bay of Denver, CO, Michael (Jackie) Bay of St. Cloud, MN, Marcia (Doug) Laferriere of Omaha, NE, Jeanette Bay of Houston, TX, and Sharon (DuWayne) Benzmiller of Bedford, TX; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James E. Bay in 1983; 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
