Cherokee, Iowa - Catherine (Tena) Husmann, 89, of Cherokee and formerly of LeMars, died Friday at Countryside Estates, Cherokee, Iowa

Services will be at 1:30 Monday at Maurer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Merrill, Plymouth, Iowa. Visitation will be after 4pm today with family present from 7 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Catherine Husmann

Catherine (Lena) Husmann, 89, Cherokee. formerly of Le Mars. died Dec. 28, 1990 at Countryside Estates in Cherokee after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Monday at Mauer-Johnson funeral home. Le Mars. Rev. Gary Lands­ness officiated. Burial was in Hillside cemetery in Merrill.

Tena Husmann was born Sept. 15, 1901. in Sioux county, rural Hawarden, to Fred and Margaretha Ressen Husmann. She was never married.

She lived in Hawarden and South Dakota before moving to Le Mars in 1945. She lived at Countryside Estates in Cherokee since 1984.

Survivors include two sisters. Mrs. Clarence (Christine) Carstensen and Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Madden, both of Le Mars: three brothers, Henry Husmann of Westbrook, Minn., Albert and Lucille Husmann of Merrill. and Alfred and Florence Husmann of Westfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Fred and John. and a sister Julia Baack.
