Mrs. Hilke Huls
Mrs. Hilke Johanna Huls, 85, rural Le Mars who had resided on the same farm in Plymouth county for 40 years, died at Floyd Valley hospital Sunday after a 3-month illness. She had been at the hospital for two weeks.
Hilke Johanna Bohms was born May 19, 1884, in Osfriesland, Germany to Jan and Gretjen Jacobs Bohms. She came to the United States in 1900 and directly to Plymouth county northwest of Brunsville where she since lived.
Her marriage to Henry H. Huls took place Oct. 15, 1902, in Preston township. She has since been a member of that church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at ; 1:30 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston township with Rev. James Sandvik officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.
A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. John (Rena) Ahrendsen, rural Le Mars, and two sons, John E. Huls,
Le Mars and Peter H. H u l s , Sioux City. There are five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960; two sisters; three brothers and a great-grandchild.
