HOPE LUCKEN

Hope Lucken, 87, of Akron, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 25, 1997, at the Akron Care Center in Akron unexpectedly.

Mrs. Lucken was born October 19, 1909, in Plymouth County near Westfield, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Morehead. She married Fred Lucken January 12, 1933. He died October 18, 1988.

She was a lifelong Plymouth County resident and farmed lifelong in rural Akron until retiring to Akron in 1961. She was a consecutive Farm Bureau member for over sixty years, a member of the Akron Care Auxiliary, Plymouth Presbyterian Church, and the church women.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Arlen and Donna Lucken and Alan and Marjorie Lucken, all of Akron; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Miller of Riverside, California, Madge Kellogg of San Diego, California, and Joy McCorkell of Lodi, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; two grandsons, Brian and David; three sisters, Lucetta Port, Alta Korthals and Alma Port; and four brothers, Guy, Strachey, Clare and Charles.
