CHESTER PHILIPS
LE MARS, Iowa—Chester F. Philips, 81, of LeMars, died Friday in a hospital at LeMars.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Calvary United Methodist church at LeMars. The Rev. Edward Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at rural Merrill under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home of LeMars.
Mr. Philips was born Aug. 16, 1897, on a farm in Plymouth County.
He married Pearl Van Oss May 21, 1925, at Sioux City. He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Plymouth County. He moved to LeMars in 1963.
Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Bonnie) Kenny of rural Akron; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer of LeMars and William of Akron; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Brown of Merrill and Mrs. Mildred Gabel of LeMars.
