FRANK FREIBERG DIES
IN VETERAN’S HOSPITAL
SET SERVICES TUESDAYFuneral services for Frank Ernest Herman Freiberg, 57, who died Sunday, May 11, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., will be held Tuesday, May 13, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s American Lutheran Church. Rev. L.L. Belk will officiate. Interment will be in the city cemetery under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home.
Mr. Freiberg, who had been in ill health the past year, was born Oct. 3, 1894, in Germany. He came to the United States at the age of 11 and lived in the Struble vicinity until after his marriage to Kathrine Onken in Grant township Feb. 7, 1923.
The couple farmed in Grant township, with the exception of one year, until retiring to their home at 214 Second St. NW, LeMars, in December of 1948. Mr. Freiberg was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran Church and a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Kathrine and father, John Freiberg both of LeMars. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Fred (Anna) Martfield, Mrs. Charles (Freda) Plueger and Mrs. Henry (Rosie) Urban, all of LeMars.
Preceding him in death were his mother, two brothers who died in Germany, and two brothers and a sister who all died in the United States.
