SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR E. K. PENCE
Eberley K. Pence, residing at Leeds, passed away Saturday at a hospital on his 76th birthday anniversary after a long illness.
Mr. Pence was born Nov. 6, 1878, in Davis county, Iowa, and for 50 years was a resident of Plymouth county. He resided on his farm home southwest of Hinton until about two years ago, when he and his wife moved to Leeds. Mr. Pence had a wide acquaintance in this territory and had many friends who mourn his passing.
Survivors include his widow, Grace; a daughter, Mrs. Frieda Hoffman of Sioux City; two brothers, Ole Pence of Sioux City, and William Pence of Gettysburg, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Thom of Correctionville, Iowa; a granddaughter and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the Anderson funeral home in Sioux City, with Rev. Joseph Castle, pastor of Wesley Methodist church in Leeds, officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery.
