PASSES AWAY AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS
Fred “Max” Blankenburg, 74, passed away Monday in a hospital at LeMars following a lingering illness of about 10 years.
Mr. Blankenburg was born November 1, 1872, in Lincoln Township, Plymouth County, where he spent his entire life excepting since 1943 when he moved to LeMars. His life’s occupation was farming and he developed a nice home in this fertile location of Iowa. “Max” was widely known and had many friends who will mourn his passing.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Lester, of LeMars, and Ralph residing on the home place in Lincoln Township; a half brother, William Schroeder, Hinton, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. this Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. H.D. Stahmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
