NORMA MAE FROLKEY, 82, of Shell Knob, Mo., died Friday, May 11, at Red Rose Inn, Cassville, Mo. She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Marcus, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Ruby (McCorkell) Herzig.

On July 30, 1944, in LeMars, Iowa, she was married to Nathan Frank Frolkey, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Michael Frolkey, and his wife, LaDonna, of Lawton, Iowa, and Keith Frolkey and his wife, Linda, of Wilton, N.H.; three daughters, Carolann Frolkey Frey, and her husband, Michael, of Boca Raton, Fla., Natalie Drahzal, and her husband, John, of East Berne, N.Y., and Wanda Sterk, of Denison, Iowa; two brothers, Marvin Herzig, and his wife, Charlotte, of Van Nuys, Calif., and Clifford Herzig, and his wife, Beret, of Satsuma, Fla.; two sisters, Shirley Gerling, and her husband, Gordon, of Akron, Iowa., and Bonnie Herzig, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Frolkey graduated from LeMars, Iowa, High School, where she was active on the debate team, a library helper, a member of concert band and the National Honor Society. After high school she received her degree in education from Westmar College in LeMars. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Her entire life was centered on her love for learning, and being a school teacher she also became the piano accompanist for music competitions, including Boys Glee Club, and later a cheerleading coach. After teaching at the elementary level, she became a school librarian. The 1989 Flippin, Ark., High School yearbook was dedicated to her and her husband.

Other activities in which Mrs. Frolkey was involved included church organist and choir member, church elder, first clerk of session for Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob, and commissioned lay pastor for Liberty Presbyterian Church in Diamond, Mo. She had been a co-owner of Kimberling City Florist, a host of Eagle Rockcampgrounds, president of Lakeside Heights Homeowners Association, member of Friends of the Library in Shell Knob, Central Crossing Women's Club, past president of Lioness Club, twice Lioness of the Year, and accompanist for the The Melodears.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 16, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Shell Knob, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Dellow and Rev. Jim Forkner officiating.
