Karen Oliver, 66, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 12, 2005, in Sioux City.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating.

Karen was born March 4, 1939, to George and Carrie (Bail) Schrooten, in Sioux City. She grew up and attended school in Leeds.

On Oct. 30, 1960, she married Derry Oliver in Merrill, Iowa. She was a housewife, then worked for 23 years in retail at Younkers. She retired in 2003.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Kerry and Beth and their children, Samantha, Jackson and Cameron, of Austin, Texas; a sister and her husband, Barbara (Schrooten) and Charles Houck of Muncie, Ind.; and two nephews, Charles C. Houck of Denver, Colo., and Jeorg Houck and his wife, Regina and their two children, Antonio and Carmen of Broomfield, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Derry.
