ELNA O. GRIMJES

Miss Elna O. Grimjes, 51, longtime high school teacher and college teacher, died Friday at her home after a one-year sickness.

She was born in Plymouth County on July 28, 1906, and received her primary and secondary education in the LeMars public schools. She received her B.A. degree from Westmar College here (the former Western Union College), and an M.A. degree from the State University of Iowa.

Her teaching posts included the Waverly and Emmetsburg school systems, Central College, Pella, Ia., and Westmar College. She was a member of the National and Iowa State Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma national sorority and the American Association of the University Women.

Survivors include her father, Henry, and a sister, Gladys Grimjes, both of LeMars.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at St. John American Lutheran Church here, with Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Burial will be in LeMars City Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home here.
