Walter Schoenrock
Walter Gustav Schoenrock, 70, Plymouth County native and lifetime resident, died April 30, 1981, at Rochester, Minn., after a short illness. He was taken April 12, to Rochester.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church at rural Hinton. Rev. Lee R. Mentink will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home in Le Mars.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Arthur Schultz officiating.
Mr. Schoenrock was born June 8, 1910, in Lincoln Township to Charles and Frieda Tobolt Schoenrock. He farmed in that township, moving to Le Mars in 1979. He was a lifelong member Trinity Lutheran Church and was very active in various offices in the church and in community affairs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Eldon, an infant brother Lester and two grandchildren.
His marriage to Elfrieda Muecke took place May 3, 1933, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife, Elfrieda, Le Mars; four daughters, Alice Lambert and Lois Cherin, both of Sioux City; Norma Newberger, Pierre, S.D., and Phyllis Oglesby of Glastonbury, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Louise) Lang and Mrs. Edward (Viola) Lang, both of Le Mars, and Mrs. Wilfred (Leona) Lahrs, Hinton.
