Wilbur Harrington
W. L. (Wilbur) Harrington, 76, Atlantic, Iowa, a Plymouth County native, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1987, at his home.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Atlantic. Burial was in the Atlantic Catholic Cemetery under direction of Rolan’s Funeral Service, Atlantic.
He was born May 4, 1910, at Westfield to Albert and Florence Waddington Harrington. He graduated from Liberty Township High School and attended the University of Iowa.
He married Ann Comes May 27, 1940, at Atlantic. They farmed near there for 25 years. He also was employed with Malone Seed Company for 15 years and managed the Atlantic Cemetery from 1972 until June 1986. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are his wife, Angeline (Ann) of Atlantic; a brother, Farrell Harrington of LeMars; three sisters, Mrs. Delbert (Ann) Maynard and Mrs. Gertrude Maynard of Westfield; Mrs. Wayne (Joy) Weigel of Omaha; his aunts, Mary Johnson of Vermillion and Vera Harrington of Huson, Mont. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin children.
