PASSES AWAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Mark Douglas Kounkel, year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kounkel of LeMars, passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City on Sept. 19, after a long sickness. He had been hospitalized in Iowa City for 10 weeks prior to being taken to the hospital three days ago.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church near Hinton at 2 p.m. Rev. L.W. Heidman officiated at the last rites, and burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kounkel, and a brother, Robert, at home, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kounkel, and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Andersen, of Mapleton, Iowa.
