HAWARDEN, Iowa -- Brian Keith Klemme, 29, of Hawarden died suddenly Thursday, May 1, 2003, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Union Creek Lutheran Church in rural Akron, Iowa, with the Rev. Steven Larson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Union Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Brian Keith Klemme was born May 16, 1973, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Larry and Carol (Vande Pol) Klemme. He attended school in Alcester, S.D., and graduated from East High School in Sioux City in 1991.

Brian married Beatriz "Betty" Anzua on July 10, 1999, at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. He held various jobs, including trucking for M.C.T., Coilcraft, Hoogland Dairy, Sioux Preme Packing, and was currently working for Haverhals Feedlot. Brian made his home in Hawarden and enjoyed hunting, working with livestock and his special horse, Lacey. He especially enjoyed spending time with his boys, and his nieces and nephews were very important to him.

Survivors who lovingly share his memory are his wife, Betty; two sons, Daniel and David, both at home in Hawarden; his parents, Carol and Duane Forslund of Hawarden, and Larry and Mary Klemme of Allen, Neb.; two brothers, Jeff and his wife, Cathy of Alcester, S.D., and Matthew of Sioux Falls; a half brother, Shannon, stationed in Germany; a half sister, Brittany of Allen, Neb.; his grandparents, Wayne and Mary Vande Pol of Hawarden, and Helen Klemme and Irene Forslund, both of Akron, Iowa; a special aunt, Ida Stone of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
