SIOUX CITY -- Juanita G. McLagan, 74, of Sioux City, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Juanita McLagan as born July 24, 1930, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Louis C. and Esther A. (Hansen) Christensen. She married Clayton L. McLagan on Aug. 7, 1949, in Sioux City.

Juanita had resided in the Sioux City area her entire life. At one time, she was employed with JCPenney. Later, she worked for several years at Blackstone Hardware. More recently, she was employed with Scheels.

Her husband, Clayton, died on Dec. 9, 2004.

She was a lifelong member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #77, and was a past state president. She was also a founding member of The Jokers Unit. She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include one son, Steven McLagan and his wife, Teri, of Wayne, Neb.; one daughter, Nancy Sitzmann and her husband, Guy, of Brandon, S.D.; one brother, Leon Christensen and his wife, Cathy, of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Darlene Solomon and her husband, Bob, of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Jennifer Frey and her husband, Marcus, Corey and Cassie Sitzmann, Nicolle, Eric and Stefanie McLagan; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jan Marie McLagan.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Sioux City with the Rev. Michael J. Schmidt of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, officiating. Following cremation, there will be a graveside services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.

Visitation will be today (Wednesday) from 2 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Eric McLagan, Corey Sitzmann, Guy Sitzmann, Louis Pick, Mike Holtz and David DeRocher.
