OCCUPATION: She attended Hoyt School in Union County and graduated from Akron High School in 1927. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., for one year and attended summer and night classes at the University of South Dakota. She taught school at the Koch and Searls school in Iowa, the Cole School in Alcester, S.D., for one year, West Union for three years, Pleasant Valley for six years and Westfield for two years, retiring in 1970. During her lifetime, she lived in Akron, Sioux City and Hawarden, and since 1970 had spent her winters at the Mondak Park in Mesa, Ariz.
SURVIVORS: …include her husband; a son and his wife, Warren and Marge of Grand Island, N.Y.; two daughters and their husbands, Carole and Jon Heider and Linda and Ron Wayman, all of Sioux City; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sistser, Miriam Enockson of Sioux City; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Ericson of Mesa, and Hed Waterman of Kingsley, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Art Claeys of Sioux City.
