OCCUPATION: He graduated fro LeMars High School in 1925, then attended Western Union College, LeMars. The couple lived in Sioux City, where he worked for Sioux Metal Products. In 1947 they moved to Hudson, Ohio, where he continued to work for Sioux Metal Products in its Bedford, Ohio, plant. In 1950 he joined Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. as a store front representative of its Kokomo, Ind., plant and in 1961 they moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where he worked in the general office until 1966. After that he traveled throughout the United States, working with the firm’s branches. He retired April 1, 1970, and moved to Detroit Lakes, Minn. in 1972. Mrs. Wernli died July 27, 1989.
MEMBER OF: Congregational church of Detroit Lakes, Minn. He was an active member of the Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary Club.
SURVIVORS: …include a son, Robert of Hudson, Ohio; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and John Bahl of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother and his wife, Donald and Jeri Wernli, of Salem, Ore.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …two brothers, Allen and James Wernli.
