OCCUPATION: He joined the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Pyro, an ammunitions ship, in Pearl Harbor. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Iowa where he worked as a machinist and also a truck driver on road projects. In 1951, they moved to Wichita, Kan., where he was employed by the Boeing Aircraft Co. as a machinist. In 1952, he was transferred to the Seattle Plant. In 1986, he retired and they moved to Ponderosa at Plain, WA.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife; two sons, Dennis of Plain and Robert of Sultan, Wash.; four daughters, Sandra Christopherson of Snohomish, Marline Macrue-Smith of Washugal, Wash., Charlene Eckberg of Everett, Wash., and Kathryn Aschenbrenner of Marysville, Wash.; a brother, Lee of Sioux City; a sister, Ruby Foot of Sun City, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

PRECEDED in DEATH by: …a son, Gary; five brothers and three sisters.
