Mary L. Sidles, 66, of Le Mars, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Mary Lou Holstine was born April 12, 1939, in Mountain Home, Ark., the daughter of Hugh Washington and Lydia (Haley) Holstine. The family moved to Eden, Idaho, where Mary graduated from high school.

Following her education, Mary moved to San Francisco, Calif., and worked at Zip's Diner as a waitress. It was at Zip's that she met Marvin Sidles. The couple was united in marriage Dec. 31, 1957, in San Francisco.

The couple made their home in San Rafael, Calif. They owned and operated a bakery in Sebastopol, California for many years. In 1973 the family moved to College Station, Texas. They have lived in Le Mars since 1997. Marvin died Aug. 11, 2001. Mary stayed in Le Mars and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She will be lovingly remembered by a son Jeff of College Station, Texas; three daughters Celinda Lynch of Remsen, Debra Hawkins of College Station, Texas and Heidi Bohlken of Le Mars; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin; three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today (Friday) at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. Pastor Tad Masteller will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
