LE MARS, Iowa -- Ruby Marion Warner, 89, of Le Mars died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Bert Burwell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 2 to 4 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume one hour a prior to the service Monday at the church.

Mrs. Warner was born Feb. 5, 1912, near Marcus, Iowa, the daughter of William H. and Elizabeth M. (Schulz) Bierman. She was raised and attended country school in Grand Meadow, rural Marcus.

She married Harold Elmer Warner on June 27, 1935, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple made their home on a farm near Pierson, Iowa. They also farmed near Marcus and in Union Township in Plymouth County, Iowa. In 1974 they moved to Le Mars. She was employed as a cook with Union Consolidated School from 1955 to the late 1960s. Her husband died in 1974. She entered Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars in 1998.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed ballroom dancing, cards and bingo.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Estill Lang of Le Mars, and Joanne and Wayne Grothaus of Mesa, Ariz.; a son and his wife, Dean and Pat of Le Mars; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a niece and her husband, Sallee and Lee Jepsen of Hastings, Minn.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Edna Totman.

Pallbearers will be John and Steve Bik, John Felts, Jerry Meister, Mark Wiltgen and Jim Bauler.
