OCCUPATION: She attended the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where she received her Registered Nursing degree in 1934. The couple made their home in Iowa City where she worked and her husband continued working on his medical degree. They moved to Seattle where Dr. Shaw completed his internship at Seattle General. They lived in Clarksville and then moved to Waverly. She assisted her husband at the clinic by helping young mothers and their newborns. Dr. Shaw died in 1981, and Pauline continued to make her home in Waverly, volunteering to the Red Cross and other community health care centers.

SURVIVORS: …include her children, Bruce Shaw of San Pedro, CA; Penelope Shaw of Rockford, IL; Dr. Barry Shaw and his wife Dianne of Birmingham, AL; Kirk and Marilyn Shaw of Cedar Falls; Paula and Jeff Francis of Iowa City; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

PLACE OF BURIAL: The body has been cremated and private family burial was in the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly, IA.
